2016 March on Health 5K

Welcome to our 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk.
The purpose of this event is to promote the spirit of caring for our community and to encourage healthy living by raising money for Summer Youth Programs at the local Clinton YMCA.  No matter you level of running, we encourage you to come out and participate.

Last year, we raised and donated $1000 to sponsor children in the Clinton YMCA Summer Youth Programs.  Good health and exercise habits must begin at an early age and we are passionate about sponsoring our youth’s participation in these programs.

We hope to surpass last year’s donations, so that our sponsorship will allow even more children to participate!

February Dress Down Day

Hello Everyone! The February dress down day will be this Friday, February 26th.  This dress down day will be benefiting the patients of the Wellness Center.  To dress down, please bring either $2 or one of the following hygiene products to donate:

Toothpaste (P1s)
Toothbrushes (P2s)
Bar soap (P3s)
Deodorant (Faculty)

The class designation for who brings what products is a friendly guideline so that we don't end up with only one type of product and none of another. Feel free to bring whatever you can!

Thank you!

PCCA Compounding Boot Camp

If you have a special interest in compounding, please consider the following excellent opportunity for professional growth!  We highly encourage you look into this program and act fast if you are interested since space is limited. Contact Dr. Goodbar (nhgoodbar@presby.edu) if you have any questions.

It's that time of year again!  PCCA is excited to inform you of our 2016 Summer Boot Camp Schedule!  The two-day Introductory Compounding Lab Boot Camp is tremendously popular.  It is designed to introduce students to the more unique and novel dosage forms that are utilized by today's compounding pharmacists, to enlighten them as to the reality and feasibility of opening their own compounding pharmacy, and to inspire them to think of compounding as a viable, rewarding, and fulfilling career pathway.

Two full days of lecture and hands-on laboratory work provide a basic understanding of the skills, tools, and equipment used in Contemporary Compounding.  Students complete eleven dosage forms they take home with them, focusing on dosage forms such as lollipops, lip balms, troches, and transdermal delivery systems.  Lectures on various contemporary compounding topics, compounding as a career path, and patient case studies are also on the agenda. Contact Dr. Goodbar for more information. Here are the 5 dates scheduled at our PCCA facility in Houston, TX:

·         May 23 – 24
·         June 6 – 7
·         June 27 – 28
·         July 7 – 8
·         August 15 – 16

Spaces are limited. Students at Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy visit: http://www.pccarx.com/pharmacy-students/pcca-institute for more information about PCCA and course registration.
Thanks,
