Stop Hunger Now

Stop Hunger Now gets food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable people, and works to end global hunger in our lifetime. Established in 1998, they have provided over 225 million meals in 73 countries. We have an opportunity as a student body to help this effort.

From the Desk of Dr. Zimmerman:

One of the things that made our Stop Hunger Now event last year such a success was the great participation we got from the Pharmacy School.  We would love to have that level of participation again this year.   More information about Stop Hunger Now can be found at http://www.stophungernow.org/.

The date for Stop Hunger now will be Wednesday evening, January 27 at 6:30 in the First Presbyterian Church Christian Life Center.  Right now we are scheduled to package 10,000 meals but if we can raise the money, we have the people to package 20,000 meals.

We will need student volunteers to help the day of starting at 5:00 pm to help set up and additional students at 6:30 to help with packaging all of the meals.

More information will be provided prior to the event

Contact Dr. Goodbar (nhgoodbar@presby.edu) or Abby Case (acase@presby.edu) for additional information.

Pharmacy Day

On behalf of Dr. Goodbar, SCSHP, and SCPhA:

Pharmacy Day at the State House is scheduled for Feb 17th this year.  Please mark your calendars for this important date! It is a BIG year because we are working on scope of practice legislation. We need as many students there as possible! This is a joint event for SCSHP and SCPhA. We had a huge turnout last year and it would be great to have lots of PC School of Pharmacy students there this year as well!  See attachment for more details about Pharmacy Day at the State House. Dr. Goodbar had a big hand in writing this piece of legislature and is willing to brief students on the verbiage and importance of passing the legislature as well as how to talk to state representatives about the bill. Be sure to watch the PharmNews emails for more details in the weeks leading up to this event!
