March 14-18: Philanthropy Week for The Center of Colon Cancer Research in Columbia, SC.
March 16 (Wednesday): Join us for our chapter meeting on March 16th from 12-1PM in room 104. We will be collecting money for Wilson's lunch (more information to come). Orders will be taken from the whole school on Monday and Tuesday! Guest speaker Dr. Frank Berger, Ph. D., Director, Center for Colon Cancer Research.
Low Country Boil: Our famous 5th Annual Low Country Boil will be held on Friday, March 18th from 6-10 PM in Bailey's Memorial Stadium. We will have plenty of food and a corn hole tournament. Winner will get corn hole boards! Make sure to sign up and buy your tickets online here: https://aphalowcountryboil.
Penny Wars: Penny Wars between each class and faculty. All week there will be jars in rooms 271 and 104. Put pennies in your jar for positive points. Place silver coins and dollars to subtract points away from the other teams. Winner of the Wars will get an ice cream social!!
Bake Sale: There will be baked goods on tables throughout the school for sale to help raise money for our philanthropy week.
March 19 (Saturday): Generation Rx will be holding a safety information event on this Saturday at Lauren's Drug Co and Gilder Weeks Apothecary. This event is approved for professional service hours so sign up via the calendar on our chapter's APhA-ASP website or via the link in the email I sent to the members. This is a closed event for APhA-ASP members only.
March 22 (Tuesday): Diabetes Alert Day - Dr. Shealy and Operation Diabetes is doing a "diabetes for a day" event. Sign up for this event was sent out via email through each class president.
March 23 (Wednesday): Our first Medication Spelling bee will be held in room 271 from 5-7PM. This is a social event that will be open to the whole school (as of right now), so come out and join us for a great time. The drugs will be pulled from the top 300 drug list. The top 3 spellers will receive prizes. Come join us even if you are not going to participate in the spelling bee for a fun time! Food will be provided.
