It is almost that time of year to select PSGA and Class Officers for 2016-2017. The descriptions and responsibilities of each officer are listed below, but please reach out to those currently serving in these positions if you have any specific questions. New officers will step into their positions on April 1st.
Please take the time to consider taking a leadership role and serving your peers at PCSP. A link for nominations will be sent out this Thursday so please keep an eye out for that email.
PSGA OFFICERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the PSGA President
• To be familiar with all operations of PSGA.
• To schedule, announce, preside, and maintain order and decorum at all PSGA meetings.
• To serve as the chairperson of PSGA.
• To enforce and promote enforcement of the Bylaws of PSGA.
• To know, recognize, and supervise the duties and responsibilities of all branches of the Student Governance Association
• To represent the PCSP student body on the Dean’s Council; to maintain contact with and to disseminate all pertinent information received from PCSP administration to the other officers and the student body.
• To work with the student body, officers, and advisors to develop a mission statement, strategic plan, and goals for PSGA; maintains and improves faculty advisor and faculty administrative support.
• To appoint and remove the chairpersons and members of all committees of the PSGA.
• To serve as an ex‐officio member of all committees.
• To maintain close contact and communication with the other members of the PSGA and the Chapter Advisor on a regular basis.
• To act as a general representative of the PSGA, except in cases where authority is given to another officer or member.
• To perform the duties of the President‐elect in the interim during which there is no such officer.
• To represent all students of PCSP including but not limited to; ideas, opinions, suggestions, etc. and appropriately convey to PSGA and other faculty/student committees.
Responsibilities of the PSGA President‐elect
• To serve a one year term of office as President‐elect and a one year term as President.
• To become conversant in all aspects of the office of the President.
• To serve as an ex‐officio member on all committees.
• To serve as an advisor to the President.
• To attend all functions and meetings at which the President's attendance is required, so as to be fully trained before assuming the office.
• To serve as a resource for all procedures and policies by having a copy of the PSGA’s Bylaws.
• To perform the duties of the President in the interim during which there is no such officer.
• To represent all students of PCSP including but not limited to; ideas, opinions, suggestions, etc. and appropriately convey to PSGA and other faculty/student committees
• To plan non‐Pharmacy community service activities with a minimum of two activities per semester
Responsibilities of the PSGA Secretary
• To record complete minutes at all PSGA meetings.
• To submit said minutes in typed form to PSGA officers and the advisor within ten days of meeting.
• To post a copy of said minutes in a conspicuous place within ten days of meeting.
• To give a report of the minutes recorded at the previous meeting at each general meeting.
• To assist in publicizing PSGA events at least two weeks prior to that event.
Responsibilities of the PSGA Treasurer
• To record all cash receipts and disbursement from PSGA funds and to oversee all PSGA fundraising activities.
• To provide a detailed annual report of expenses and income to PSGA officers and advisor by April 15th of presiding year.
• To provide a detailed budget plan for the upcoming year to PSGA officers and advisor by June 30 of presiding year.
CLASS OFFICERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of Class President
• To represent his/her respective class on the Dean’s Council; to maintain contact with and to disseminate all pertinent information received from PCSP administration to the class.
• To accurately and fully represent his/her respective class on the Pharmacy Student Governance Association and to disseminate all pertinent information received from PSGA to the class.
• To accurately and fully represent his/her respective class to course instructors and PCSP administration.
Responsibilities of Class Vice President
• To serve as an advisor to the Class President.
• To perform the duties of the Class President in the interim during which there is no such officer.
• To perform the duties of the Class President in the interim during which there is no such officer.
• To assist the Class President in representing his/her respective class on the Dean’s Council; to maintain contact with and to disseminate all pertinent information received from PCSP administration to the class.
• To assist the Class President in accurately and fully representing his/her respective class on the Pharmacy Student Governance Association and to disseminate all pertinent information received from PSGA to the class.
• To assist the Class President in accurately and fully representing his/her respective class to course instructors and PCSP administration.
